Education

Education concerts

Platypus Theatre’s programs have been performed for thousands of school children in cities around the world. Each program is tailored to suit a specific age group (kindergarten to grade 3 or grade 4 to grade 7) and comes with thoughtfully-written and engaging study guides. The guides can be used as is or adapted to suit a particular orchestra and can be downloaded directly here.

“The show was fantastic. Exposing elementary children to classical music is not easily done. I love the way the program interwove the musical and dramatic portions. As a teacher with strong music and theatre background I can honestly say it was the best program and presentation we could have hoped for.”
– James Clark, Teacher, Merritt, BC

In-school concerts

A chamber version of “How the Gimquat Found Her Song” for two actors and six musicians is available for performances in schools.
