Platypus Theatre is the leader in offering high quality, pre-packaged family concerts that are a hit for all ages. For 25 years, we have presented classical music to young audiences in an intelligent, entertaining and participatory way. Hundreds of prominent orchestras and chamber groups across North America, Asia and Australia have programmed Platypus Theatre as part of their family and education series. In our eight original productions, music and storylines are woven together with mesmerizing performances, colorful masks and costumes that draw audiences in and create an engaging musical experience for all.

Platypus Theatre’s award-winning shows have sold out concert halls around the world. We understand young audiences, and we know how to engage them. We don’t treat classical music as if it belongs in the past. Some of the music may have been written hundreds of years ago, but our settings and storylines are based in the present day. Kids relate to Platypus theatre’s likeable characters and learn that classical music is just as beautiful and relevant today as it was when it was written.

We know what works, and what you need. From our musical scores to rehearsal DVDs to study guides, we supply absolutely everything for a show to go off without a hitch. We also bring our incredible stage manager who adds polish to every production. All you need to do is turn the key and we’ll take things from there.
